A.B.T.™ Bradford Assay

Size: 500 mL - Cat No: W04-01-50

A.B.T.™ Bradford Assay is a common colorimetric method used to quantitatively determine the concentration of total protein. The assay relies on the binding of the dye Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 to proteins in solution. When bound to proteins, the dye undergoes a shift in its absorbance spectrum, resulting in a color change from brown to blue. The intensity of the blue color is directly proportional to the protein concentration in the sample. Bradford assay is compatible with many of the salts, solvents, buffers, reducing chemicals, and chelating agents often used in protein samples. Assays can be performed in tubes, or multi-well plate formats.
